Shut up and write!

Finding it hard to get into the writing habit? Put writing off in favour of other things?

Maybe all you need to do is “Shut up and write!”

Inspired by similar groups at universities such as the University of Melbourne and the University of Western England, "Shut up and write!" sessions help you set aside time for your writing. The format is simple:
  • Groups meet at a specific place and time
  • Everyone introduces themselves
  • Group writes for a set period of time- usually 25-30 minutes
That’s it!

There’s no need to register to attend and no requirement to share your work after, although if you want to you can.

"Shut up and write!" sessions have been found to be a really useful way to deal with procrastination and establish a writing habit.

Next session

The next sessions will be held at 11:00 on 22 March in the Harvey Milk Room in the Guild of Students. It's right next door to Costa so feel free to grab a drink before joining us!
