The British Graduate Shakespeare Conference 6-8th June 2013

Now in its fifteenth year, the British Graduate Shakespeare Conference will be held at the Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-upon-Avon from 6th-8th June 2013. Run by graduate students for graduate students, we warmly welcome papers on Shakespeare and Renaissance studies, and we provide a friendly, supportive environment in which to share your research.

ESRC Student Internship Scheme 201

The ESRC Student Internship Scheme 2013 is now open for applications, with a closing date of Friday 8 March 2013.  There are some excellent and exciting opportunities available for ESRC funded PhD students to apply for with 22 host organisations  and 95 Internships offering a range of Internships between one and six months.
 

Universitas 21 PhD Scholarships

Applications are now invited for the Universitas 21 PhD Scholarships Programme. We are keen to encourage as many PhD students as possible to take advantage of this excellent opportunity. PhD students can apply for a Scholarship award of up to £1500 for a period of around one month’s stay at a Universitas 21 institution. The main aim of the award is to allow students to enhance their research by providing access to expertise or resources not readily available at Birmingham. It also aims to facilitate collaboration with academics internationally and create opportunities to present, helping to raise the profile of students’ work. Funding is for projects to be initiated during 2013-14.

The Michael K. O'Rourke PhD Best Publication Awards 2013

The University Graduate School has launched the annual competition for PGRs who have made outstanding contributions in terms of publication of their research, the Michael K. O’Rourke PhD Best Publication Award.  The PGR must be nominated by a supervisor, be the major contributor (first or only author) to the publication and registered at the University of Birmingham.  The date of publication (full publication, “in press” or DoI) must be within the PGR’s period of registration (including writing up status).  There will be a winner from each College (decided by a College panel) and then an overall winner decided by the Graduate School Management Board.  Announcements of the winners will take place next June.

Applications are now open for the Research Poster Conference 2013 #rpc2013

It's that time of year again and we're inviting postgraduate researchers from all years and colleges to apply to present at the Research Poster Conference 2013.  This is the only at the University where all postgraduate researchers from across the University are brought together to celebrate and communicate your hard work.
